Butyltin oxide/ MBTO Monobutyltin Oxide
Butyltin oxide (MBTO / oxidized butyl tin), white powder , the molecular formula C4H10SnO2, has a molecular weight of 208.8. It is an organic tin compound. It is a white powder with a density of 1.46g/L at 25℃,a boiling point of 350℃.
It is insoluble in water and most organic solvents, but soluble in strong bases and mineral acids. This substance decomposes directly at high temperatures, and its chemical properties are stable and non-corrosive.
MBTO /Butyltin oxide is used for plastic stabilizer raw materials, polyurethane catalysts, organic tin intermediates, esterification reaction catalysts, electrophoretic deposition coating catalysts.
1. Organic tin/Butyltin oxide MBTO is widely used as a stabilizer for PVC, a foaming agent for polyurethane, a disinfectant, a material protective agent, and a veterinary deworming agent, etc.
2. Organic tin /Butyltin oxide MBTOdecomposes in the environment into harmless divalent inorganic tin, unlike tin and lead which leave residual toxins and pose a threat to the environment.
3. Butyl peroxide stannate/Butyltin oxide MBTO is mainly used as a catalyst in the production of saturated polyester resins for powder coatings, coil (steel) material coatings, and insulating paints; as well as a catalyst for the production of unsaturated polyester resins.
4. Butyltin oxide MBTO is used as a raw material for plastic stabilizers, an organic tin intermediate, a catalyst for esterification reactions, and a catalyst for electrophoretic deposition coatings.
